POSITION SUMMARY
The Tax Audit Manager leads and oversees tax audit defense and engagements for a portfolio of corporate clients. This role requires deep expertise in Indonesian tax audit procedures, strong legal reasoning, accounting and financial statements, and the ability to represent clients before the DGT. A critical dimension involves in-depth analysis of the client’s business operations and supply chain to construct effective audit defense strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tax Audit Defense
- Lead end-to-end management of tax audit engagements from the initial Tax Audit Instruction Letter (SP2) until the Tax Assessment Letter (SKP)
- Develop and execute audit defense strategies, including preparation documents, maintenance of the timeline tax audit, and conducting strategic discussions.
- Represent clients in meetings with Tax Auditors, providing persuasive arguments supported by legal analysis and factual evidence.
- Advise on strategic merits and risks of pursuing disputes at each stage based on cost-benefit analysis and precedent assessment.
- Provide recommendations for the company's improvements regarding the tax audit result
Team Leadership & Knowledge Management
- Lead and develop a team of 3–8 tax audit team members, providing audit procedural knowledge, technical guidance, coaching, and performance management.
- Design and maintain the team’s audit management system, tracking status and deadlines.
- Develop internal knowledge resources, including case databases and DGT audit trend analysis.
- Conduct team training on tax audit strategy, audit procedure, technical guidance, evidence gathering, and communication skills.

Client Advisory & Business Development
- Advise clients on tax audit readiness and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide proactive advisory on regulatory changes impacting tax audit positions.
- Build trusted relationships with clients at the CFO and DGT officials.
- Develop business proposals for audit engagements and identify cross-selling opportunities.
