Backend Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our product engineering team. In this role, you’ll own and deliver end-to-end product features from backend services and APIs to frontend interfaces. Working closely with Product, Design, and QA within a cross-functional squad. You won’t just write code; you’ll ship outcomes that directly impact our users and business.

This is a hands-on, full-stack-oriented role for someone who thinks in products, not just systems. You’ll have real ownership over what you build, mentorship opportunities with junior engineers, and the freedom to work across the entire stack.

Area of Responsibility:

• Own product features end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, monitor, and iterate based on user feedback and product metrics.
• Develop across the full stack—backend services (Golang/Python), APIs (REST/gRPC), and frontend interfaces (TypeScript/React)—to deliver complete, user-facing functionality.
• Collaborate with Techlead, Product Managers and Designers to scope technical solutions, assess feasibility, and make UX-aware tradeoffs.
• Design and maintain scalable, well-documented APIs that serve frontend, mobile, and external integrations.
• Write clean, well-tested code with comprehensive coverage (unit, integration, E2E) and proactively reduce technical debt.
• Lead code reviews across the stack; contribute to architectural discussions and team-level technical decisions.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for production features you own; participate in incident response.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing, 1:1s, and knowledge sharing.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.

• 3+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated ability to work across the stack.
• Proficiency in at least two of: Golang, Python, TypeScript—with willingness to learn and contribute beyond your primary language.
• Solid experience building scalable APIs (REST/gRPC) and working with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and caching layers (Redis).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
• Experience building frontend interfaces with TypeScript and a modern framework (React or equivalent).
• Track record of owning features end-to-end—from technical design through production monitoring.
• Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, and E2E testing using relevant frameworks.
• Comfortable with Git workflows, code review culture, and Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
• Product-minded: you understand user needs, ask “why” before “how,” and can communicate tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative and communicative—able to work effectively in a cross-functional squad with Product, Design, and QA.
• Experience with or enthusiasm for AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot).
