Chief Engineering

1. Maintenance and Repairs:

• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) to reduce downtime and avoid costly repairs.

2. Team Leadership and Management

Budget and Cost Control:

• Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering department’s annual budget, ensuring expenditures remain within allocated limits while still meeting operational needs.
• Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost reduction, particularly with utilities and resource consumption (e.g., water, electricity, gas).

Safety and Compliance

Equipment and Asset Management:

• Inventory Control: Manage the inventory of tools, parts, and equipment necessary for the proper maintenance of the hotel.
• Asset Management: Track the lifespan and condition of hotel assets (e.g., HVAC units, elevators, kitchen equipment) and plan for replacements or upgrades as necessary.
• Capital Projects: Oversee any major engineering projects, such as renovations, upgrades, or construction, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Alternatively, a Diploma or Certification in engineering, facilities management, or building maintenance.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Hands-on experience with building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
• Experience managing a team of engineers or maintenance personnel.
