Overview:
The Safety Senior Superintendent leads the overall HSE function for the project site, ensuring the highest safety standards across all work areas. The role manages audits, investigations, training programs, and compliance initiatives while mentoring safety supervisors and contractor HSE teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead site-wide HSE implementation and ensure compliance with regulations and corporate standards.
• Conduct thorough audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Oversee incident investigations and develop corrective action plans.
• Mentor and train safety supervisors, officers, and contractor HSE teams.
• Monitor HSE KPIs and provide regular reports to project leadership.
• Coordinate emergency response planning and safety programs.
• Review and approve safety plans, JHAs, and high-risk activity permits.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all site operations.
Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction or mining HSE leadership roles.
• NEBOSH, SMK3, or equivalent safety certification required.
• Strong understanding of risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience leading large HSE teams in major projects.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Strong incident investigation and reporting skills.
• Ability to lead safety culture initiatives.
