Solid understanding of composition, color theory, light falloff, and spatial depth.
Proficiency in Photoshop combined with 3D workflows (Blender, Maya, or Unreal Engine) for environment blocking and lighting bases.
Familiarity with Nuke for basic projection testing and layer output preparation.
Ability to work across multiple visual styles, ranging from hyper-photorealistic film environments to stylized animation backdrops.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working across Art and VFX departments.

Portfolio Requirements

Selection of high-quality environment matte paintings and LookDev concepts showing mood and lighting variations.
Process breakdowns illustrating the pipeline from 3D block-out / rough sketch to photo-bashing and final polish.
Clear visual proof of layer separation and projection readiness.
