What does it mean to become a Compositing/Matte Painting Lead?
- Lead and mentor the Compositing and Matte Painting team in a fast-paced, collaborative production environment.
- Define the artistic and technical direction for compositing and matte painting work, reviewing team deliverables to ensure visual quality, consistency, and production readiness.
- Oversee the integration of CG and live-action elements, including compositing, color grading, matte extraction, cleanup, and digital matte painting to achieve seamless final images.
- Plan, assign, and monitor team workload to ensure shots are delivered on schedule while meeting creative and technical requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Supervisors and cross-functional departments to resolve creative and technical challenges throughout the production pipeline.
- Ensure consistency in color, lighting, perspective, and overall visual continuity across shots and sequences.
- Drive continuous improvements to compositing workflows, pipeline efficiency, tools, and team knowledge through R&D and knowledge sharing.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, artistic judgment, and problem-solving skills while performing effectively under production deadlines.
