About the Role

As the Head of Fraud Analytics & Corporate Risk, you will lead Flip's fraud analytics strategy, ensuring our fraud prevention capabilities effectively protect customers and the business while enabling sustainable growth. You will own the end-to-end fraud analytics function, driving data-driven decision making, optimizing fraud detection strategies, and building scalable risk monitoring frameworks across all products and payment channels.


You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Data, and Business teams to proactively identify emerging fraud trends, strengthen fraud controls, and continuously improve fraud detection capabilities. As the functional leader, you will build and develop a high-performing analytics team while serving as the organization's subject matter expert on fraud analytics.

Job requirements

What You'll Do

  • Define and lead Flip's fraud analytics strategy across products, payment channels, and customer journeys.
  • Lead fraud analytics covering transaction monitoring, investigations, detection rules, fraud reporting, and performance management.
  • Develop fraud monitoring frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs to measure fraud exposure, operational effectiveness, and customer impact.
  • Optimize fraud rules, ML signals, thresholds, and decision strategies to prevent fraud while minimizing false positives and customer friction.
  • Analyze transactional and behavioral data to identify fraud trends, attack patterns, emerging risks, and vulnerabilities.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Data Science, and Business teams to embed fraud prevention into products and processes.
  • Provide fraud risk assessments and recommendations for new products, payment methods, customer journeys, and business initiatives.
  • Establish fraud governance, reporting standards, and risk communication, including support for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Drive innovation through advanced analytics, automation, AI, and emerging fraud detection technologies.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing fraud analytics team.
  • Advise senior leadership and the Board on fraud risks, risk assessments, and strategic decisions.
  • Oversee monetary and reputational risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of experience in Fraud Analytics, Fraud Risk Management, Risk Analytics, or Financial Crime, preferably in fintech, payments, banking, or consumer finance.
  • Proven experience leading fraud analytics teams and fraud strategies at an organizational level.
  • Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, fraud typologies, transaction monitoring, account takeover, mule detection, scams, chargebacks, and digital payment fraud.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with large-scale transactional and behavioral data.
  • Advanced SQL skills and familiarity with Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
  • Experience designing fraud rules, detection strategies, KPIs, and decision frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of fraud prevention, AML, payment risk, and financial crime regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and translate complex insights into business decisions.
  • Proven ability to build high-performing teams and balance customer experience, business growth, operational efficiency, and fraud risk.
